Frequently asked questions about DV Book Manager:

bulletI would like to try your program. What should I do ?
You can download a shareware version for free from this site, and try DV Book Manager as much as you want, but with a limit: you can manage 100 books, not more. To be able to manage as many books as you want, you have to register (see below).

bulletHow to register ? How long does it last ?
To register on-line, and pay with your credit card, simply click on this link and follow the instructions. The payment is processed by Yaskifo!, a secure server. You will find details on payment security on the Yaskifo! web site.
Once your order is processed, you will receive your registration code very quickly, generally within 1 hour.

bulletHow many books can be managed with DV Book Manager ?
The number of books per database and the number of databases managed are not limited. However, I recommend that databases do not exceed 100,000 books, and best performances are attained with databases up to 30,000 books. It should be enough for most users !

bulletDo you have a Macintosh version ?
No. It is not possible for me to program a Mac version without re-writing everything from scratch, so no macintosh version is planned.

bulletHow much does DV Book Manager cost ?
DV Book Manager personal costs US $ 35 per license, DV Book Manager Pro costs US $50 per license.

bulletWhy are there 2 different versions of DV Book Manager ?
They are designed to suit different needs:
bulletPersonal version, for individuals. All the library management features are included. License price: $35.
bulletPro version, for companies, associations, schools... Additionnal features: manage loans, with borrowers database, loan out and return date, loans history for each book...   Can also share a database between several users in a network. License price: $50.

bulletI want to use DV Book Manager on several computers. Shall I buy several licenses ?
It depends on the use: If you use DV Book Manager for your personal library only, and if you have 2 computers, you may use DV Book Manager on both with only 1 license. But for other uses (professionals, associations, churches, schools...), you have to buy one license per computer. Please contact me : for special prices if you plan to buy several licenses (5 or more).

bulletI already have a database of my book collection. Can I import it into DV Book Manager ?
Yes ! DV Book Manager can import text databases. Most programs can export their databases under this format, so that you should be able to import you books database into DV Book Manager. If you have problems in doing it, please feel free to contact me ( ) and send me your current database. I will try to convert it into a DV Book Manager database for you.
